If you cannot already tell by the lyrics, this song is SADISTIC (hey, that word is synonymous with brütal). And the animated video is even more twisted. But holy crap, I adore this song. I have been getting into Avenged Sevenfold more and more as the weeks have been going on and, for some reason, this song has stood out in particular. One obvious reason is that most of the spots that normally would be necessitated by guitar parts have been taken over by brass instruments, giving it a feeling like it could be a number in a Broadway musical (or even like it would be played at a Bar Mitzvah). Funny thing is that the song loses none of the normal Avenged Sevenfold heaviness they are known for; it probably would not be out of place even if you put it on their heaviest and best album City of Evil. It is just that epic. And despite the perverse subject matter, there are numerous parts of the song in which the instrumentation comes together in the most beautiful way possible, like during the main chorus. I know these guys have a blast playing the song live and it is a fun song to just listen to. So, "A Little Piece of Heaven," welcome to the vault of Brütal.
